Be SMART with Your Health Goals

Written by Robyn Tiger, MD, DipABLM, Founder, StressFreeMD | January 02, 2023

If you are someone who makes healthy New Year’s resolutions year after year that you don’t achieve, know that you are not alone.

Did you know that 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail? It’s one thing to have health goals - it’s another thing to attain them.

Help yourself succeed by staying organized. You can accomplish this by creating SMART goals:

S: Specific — the exact behavior you are making

M: Measurable — how you know when the goal is reached

A: Attainable — it is achievable and can be accomplished

R: Relevant — it is in alignment with the changes you desire to make

T: Time — the amount of time to complete the behavior

Write your SMART goal on a piece of paper, or type it on your computer or phone. Make the commitment to follow through with the steps you created, and set yourself up for success!
